Project Description

Head to a traditional Sami working reindeer farm. You will be met by a local Sami guides who will explain how the Sami work the reindeer farm using traditional methods.

Feeding the reindeer allows you to get up close and admire these magnificent native creatures. You will learn many things about the way that the herd work together.

Each reindeer has its own character and habits. Following this interaction with Boris, Maggie and the others you will enjoy a hearty lunch around a fire in a traditional lavvu tent. Here you will have the opportunity to ask Laila questions and she will tell you her experiences about life as a Sami.

During September to mid-end of November the Reindeer are roaming free so this activity will include a Reindeer Safari where we will drive out into the fjords to try and locate the herd.
