A very scenic 1 hour 40 min (70km) journey along a winding road out to the deserted fishing town of Nyksund. During the winter months the population is approximately 8 (and one of those is the town dog!). Despite being so desolate, the town retains an eerie and must-see magical presence. A mecca for photographers and artists, you can really feel how hard life is living and working in the Arctic especially being so exposed to the sea. As you wander the wooden walkways that look out over the crashing rough sea you can’t fail but to be impressed by this small forgotten town. There are plenty of photographic opportunities along the way there and back.
If you want a Starbucks then this town isn’t for you!
A possible lunch stop at Myre on the return journey available or bring a packed lunch.
Small group tour (max 8 people)
